St. Louis Family Photography: Something Completely Different

It’s tricky sometimes to come up with fresh takes on family pictures. There are, of course, plenty of great parks around, but it’s always nice to go somewhere new, to keep the creative juice flowing. So when Crystal talked about doing something decidedly different for her family’s pictures, it seemed like the perfect occasion to head down to the Cotton Belt Building.

Admittedly, I had just done some engagement pictures┬áthere about a month earlier, so it was probably┬ástill fresh in my mind. But! I think the location is cool enough to run the risk of a little over exposure (if you’ll pardon the pun).

I love the colorful mural along the side, and I think it made a great backdrop for our group pictures. We had a lot of combinations to get through, but everyone was on their game, and we got some great images. Once the grandparents had done their thing we moved further in for some more pictures. All the graffiti really makes for some compelling images, and definitely makes for a different kind of family photo!
