St. Louis Anniversary Photography: The Fabric of Our Lives

I’ve done my fair share of portraits of couples over the years–plenty of engagement pictures and wedding photography. I can safely say, though, this is the first time I’ve done anniversary pictures. Liz and Kara were looking to do something fun to celebrate their second anniversary, which, as you might guess, is the cotton anniversary. If memory serves from our original talks, the cotton candy was their idea, and then I threw in the giant cotton balls, which I’ve kinda sorta worked with before.

Anyway! With the general concept settled on, it was just a matter of getting everything together. I reached out to the Kirkwood Sugar Shack for the cotton candy, and rented a studio at . A bag of pillow stuffing and some paper lanterns made cotton ball construction a breeze, and we were good to go!

From there, all I had to do was turn the camera on Liz and Kara–and as you can tell, they’re pretty smitten with each other. All I really had to do was point and shoot. Their daughter Alex came along, too, so we got some nice family photos along the way!
